Day 7 Is over
Thursday was filled with little excitement, lots of scenic miles but not much to do but ride. We left Dawson Creek around 9am and headed west on 97 the Alcan highway. We ran into our first road work delay, it was only 5 mins this time. Perfect weather day, sunny and 75-80 degrees of pure enjoyment. We talked with some other bikers on their way to Dawson City from Calgary, they told us about a drink there you have to take as a right of passage. It has a mummified human toe in it, (yes it’s a real toe) and they put it in a shot glass, Brandon has volunteered to do it and take one for the team. Let’s Go Brandon!!!
When we got to Fort Nelson, we checked in at the hotel and unloaded our bags and went exploring. We found some trails down by the river. I dropped my bike twice so Brandon and are tied for dropping our bikes now (it would be nice to keep it that way) then we headed into town and checked out the Alaska highway mueseum, pretty interesting. lots of cool stuff from early years of building and living on the Alcan highway.
We then headed to fuel our bikes and give them a quick wash, only because there are so many bugs on the front and the radiators are starting to get clogged with them.We decided to eat at the hotel a lot of people raved about their food, I wasn’t impressed, really expensive and they were chinsy on the portions, but oh well life goes on. Not much to do here now, and this is why I’m here boring you with our uneventful day lol, so get our there and make some memories, Ride on!!!
